There are many things that go on in the world. Many, many things. Most of these things are common, so it's not that hard to go out and find a specific phenomenon and check it out, see what it looks like upside down and backwards.
However, there are a few things out there that are uncommon, even downright rare. Most folks only see these things a few times, if at all, and are never able to just go out in the world and check out these rare things.
What's odd is that, as far as science is concerned, these rare things aren't worth integrating into a worldview because they cannot be investigated. Not to say that the stringent rules of modern scientific thought aren't incredibly useful, but they are restrictive.
Up until a few months ago I thought my mind should only consider a modern scientific worldview. I now realize how close-minded this is. Having such a view would automatically exclude all aspects of reality that can't be investigated experimentally. Even given that the aspects of reality that can't be experimented upon are likely so rare as to be unimportant, it is acutally unscientific to ignore them.
As a result, my mind is now running on a "clean" science, in which previous paradigms have no impact, because they tend to ignore evidence. So now I see no reason not to suspend judgement about any number of paranormal phenomena instead of dismissing them outright.
