I create as I speak

I looked up the etymology of the word abracadabra on Wikipedia. They think it comes from the Aramaic אברא כדברא or avra kedabra. Which means "creating as speaking". It also might be from the Aramaic עבריה כדבריה which is "I transgress as I speak".

Or even the Hebrew הברכא דברא or habracha dabra, which means the power (as in blessing or curse) of pestilence. Basically the name of an evil pestilence demon that must be called upon in order to diminish its power.

The common theme is that the abraca- portion refers to creation, blessing, power, or the word of god as a noun. -dabra seems to be a verb, the act of speaking. So it seems to be invoking the power of god in the user.
